Avril Supermarché Santé collaborates with JRTech Solutions for its store digital transformation
Avril Supermarché Santé is Quebec’s leading organic chain of grocery stores. With over 8 locations, one of Avril’s driving ambitions is to change their consumers’ lives by offering fresh and healthy products supported by a technologically-rich store floor.
Since 2010, Avril Supermarché entered into a collaborative partnership with JRTech Solutions Inc., the leading supplier of Pricer electronic shelf labels in North America, for the installation of automated price labels in 8 of its stores. As a result, Avril became the first chain of grocery stores in Canada to be fully equipped with electronic shelf labels.
“Digital labels are a crucial part of our growth strategy“, says Rolland Tanguay, the chain owner. JRTech Solutions’ ESL solutions improve the consumers’ purchase experience and make the price management much quicker and easier. Pricer ESLs significantly reduce the time-consuming manual work done by store employees, making the employees more available to serve customers as well as perform more value-added tasks.
Originally, Avril Supermarché Santé started off with graphic price tags in the fruits and vegetable sections and LCD or segmented labels throughout the rest of the store. This model served them well for many years. Having seen a significant return on investment with Pricer ESLs, Avril Supermarché Santé decided to outfit their latest stores solely with the higher-end graphic labels.
Currently, more than 12,000 electronic shelf labels have been deployed in each Avril Supermarché Santé store. “We are designing a model that will serve us for the next ten years!”, mentions Mr. Tanguay.
Thanks to its innovative concept, Avril Health Supermarket has become the benchmark to follow in terms of consumer experience and has won the “WOW” Best Customer Experience Award on November 2019.
